Tell us your Mac's name and what you were doing. If Bifröst's helper keeps stopping, attach the file from Settings › Advanced › Export logs.
What you need
- A Mac with Bifröst installed
- An iPhone with the Bifröst app, if you want to work from your phone
- Claude Code or Codex, signed in with your own account
- git, plus GitHub CLI (gh) signed in to open pull requests
Connecting your phone
How do I connect my phone?
On your Mac, open Settings › Devices and show a code. Scan it with the Bifröst app on your iPhone, check that the six-digit code matches on both, then choose Allow on your Mac. A code works once and expires after 5 minutes.
My phone says it can't reach my Mac.
Your Mac needs to be on, awake and online, with Bifröst running. If Bifröst says its helper stopped, choose Restart helper. Your phone reconnects on its own once your Mac is back.
I got a new phone or reinstalled the app.
Scan a new code from Settings › Devices on your Mac, and disconnect the old phone there.
Can I use Bifröst on two Macs?
One account works on one Mac at a time. When you sign in on another Mac and choose Use this Mac instead, the first Mac signs out and its phones are disconnected. Scan a new code from the new Mac.
Agents
Is Claude or Codex usage included?
No. Agents run on your own Claude Code and Codex accounts, and their providers bill that usage.
Does my code leave my Mac?
No. Your code, sessions and conversations stay on your Mac, and what reaches your phone is end-to-end encrypted. Privacy has the details.
Subscription
Where do I manage my subscription?
In Account on this site. Payment details and cancellation are handled there, not in the iPhone app.
What happens if a payment fails?
Bifröst keeps working while the payment is retried. Update your payment method in Account.
What happens when my subscription ends?
Turns that are already running finish. New sessions and messages wait until you subscribe again.
Updates
How do I update Bifröst?
On your Mac, download the latest version from Account and install it over the old one. Updates are installed by hand until signed releases ship. The iPhone app updates through the App Store.
